Meet The Owner

Leah Ciesla-Semethy

I was introduced to the game of golf by my parents at a young age and quickly fell in love with it. After my family relocated from New Jersey to Southwest Florida, I became even more involved in the local golf community. Growing up around the sport inspired me to take my passion further — volunteering and teaching junior golf with First Tee Naples–Collier, serving as Captain of my high school golf team, and continuing to play throughout college. Golf has remained a constant in my life and continues to shape it today, as my husband is a PGA Professional.

Being one of the few girls in my friend group who played golf, I didn’t think much of it — it was simply something my family enjoyed doing together on weekends. Still, it wasn’t always easy to find a group of young women who wanted to play. This ultimately inspired the creation of The Azalea Golf Club!

I have had the incredible opportunity to attend the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, GA — I like to think of it as heaven on earth. Inspired by the legendary 13th 'Azalea' hole at Augusta National Golf Club, and notably one of the most recognizable scenes in golf, the green beyond Rae’s Creek is the only place on the entire course closed to spectators, surrounded by blooming azaleas, synonymous with Augusta National and the game itself. The name was chosen to honor tradition and excellence, but above all, a shared sense of belonging.

When I’m not on the course or working on Azalea things, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, reading a good book, taking a walk along the Gulf, or enjoying an iced matcha at Wolfmoon.

Excited to meet you on (and off) the fairway!
